Ever heard of this interesting story on the origin of Holi?

It goes like this:

Lord Krishna, when he was an infant, was fed on the poisonous breast milk of Putana—making his skin blue in colour. 

On the other hand, Radha was extremely fair-skinned with a tint of golden glow to it.

Lord Krishna, feeling inferior about his skin colour, was dubious as to whether Radha would ever fall in love with him.

He went to his mother for her advice.

Mata Yashoda came up with a unique solution—that Lord Krishna could smear colour on Radha and smear it on himself, and thus, their skin would be of the same colour.

Lord Krishna did that, and Radha accepted him.

And Holi came to be known as a celebration of the eternal love between Lord Krishna and Radha.
