Introduction to FIR

The two important things, which you need to do before initiating any criminal proceeding is to either file a complaint or first information report. Complaint simply means an allegation against any person that he has committed an offence to be made in front of the magistrate, either orally or in writing but it does not include a police report. First Information Report or FIR is the report prepared by the police officer in furtherance of receiving information relating to the commission of a cognizable offence.

Complaint is generally made by the person against whom the offence has been committed. FIR can be lodged by the person against whom the offence is committed, by the person who knows that the offence has committed, or by the person who has seen the commission of an offence.

The procedure for filing FIR has been given under Section 154 of Criminal Procedure Code, 1973. But what is not given under any law or code is the procedure for filing online complaint and FIR, this article will discuss the procedures for filing an online FIR / complaint.

Submission of Online FIR / Complaint

While typically one needs to go to a police station to file an FIR, some states have taken the process online. The states which allow for online submission of FIR/Complaint are as follows:

  • Himachal Pradesh–

  1. It is a form where you have to fill various fields. At first you need to select your area.
  2. In second field you will get the list of Police Stations. Please select one which is nearest to your region.
  3. Now select the type of complaint you want to make in FIR.
  4. After this you need to describe your problem in detail. You should restrict your complaint to 2000 words. 2000 words are enough for all kind of problems/complaints.
  5. In the next part, you need to fill your personal details like name, address, mobile number etc.
  6. Once you are done with all the fields, hit Submit option at last.

    Please someone help me to complain about the guy who forced me for sex and stated blackmailing telling he will terminate me at anycost from company.i have even some prove but I can’t attach here. He is married and have kids.     Please someone help me to file a complaint againts someone. I would like to complain about someone, manager of a Company who hiard me first and tortured a lot. after hiaring he used to take frequest meeting with me and started approaching me for sex. I stop talking to him, blocked everywhere due to which he started taking revenge officially. I informed to higher manager but no help. As higher manager need the particular manager and don’t wanna let him terminate. After complaining even higher manager strtd behaving something differently as they got to know I’ll complaint to HR. They didn’t allow me to go to HR and I was not aware exactly how we have to complain. As I had a fear of loosing job. Finally with no option I quite the job and I am jobless now, dieng for food and shelter away from home. If we complain about someone no one will be take seriously untill something bigger issue happened. Why things are like this in India. Why the girls are not safe here. Being a father of 2 yrs old daughter how can he blackmail for sex. Hi am basically from kotdwara,Uttrakhand , There is an property dealer who has taken 1.40 lakh rupees from my brother ,though the cheque bounce case has been filed but there is no progress for almost a year on case , recently we came to know that property dealer (Saurabh Negi) has more than 20 cases running against him of fraud but still he is roaming free. This become a big question that the fraud like him can easily manupulate the law system in india, Any sugeestion in these regards would be of great help. Also it has come to our notice that he hasn’t stopped even after us he has done fraud with many people of lakhs in kotdwara.

I’m currently living in Banglore and searching for job. 15 days back one guy (Santhosh, 9611439643) call to me to come for the interview . I’m going to the interview but he is not coming to office so, he called come to my Home ( Kammanahalli, near SBI Bank).
