Palahalli Sanjay is the founder of a Lean Management consultancy firm in Bengaluru. Prior to this he was working with Honeywell, Bengaluru as Site HOS Leader.

He completed the NUJS diploma in Entrepreneurship Administration and Business Law in 2016. Over here he talks about his experience with the NUJS diploma course, and how it helped him. Over to Sanjay.

I’m an Arts graduate and after my graduation, I joined Taj Group of Hotels in Bengaluru in 1993.  I worked in the hotel industry for seven years before joining ITES industry in 2000. I worked with Honeywell, Bengaluru as Site HOS Leader till May 2016.  I have recently started my own Lean Management consultancy firm.

I was always interested in Law and about the legal aspects of any issue.  I believe that I have always had the capability of understanding the legal dimensions of any discussion with comparative ease and I wanted to hone this capability further.  This is the reason why I decided to pursue this diploma as it would give me a formal introduction of law.

Moreover, business laws are very relevant these days as we are seeing a boom in startups and I am quite interested in that as well.  Before deciding to join the course, I went through the course curriculum and it was really interesting.  The other factors of my interest were; this was a correspondence course being offered online which I could do as per my timings.  Also, the general introduction of the course was very impressive and made me interested in the course.

I ALSO TALKED ABOUT THE COURSE TO MY NIECE WHO IS A LAWYER AND SHE ALSO ADVISED ME THAT MANY OF HER FRIENDS HAVE ENROLLED FOR THIS COURSE AND THEY ARE FINDING IT VERY USEFUL.

All these factors helped me decide on enrolling for the course. This diploma is one of the few interesting courses I have taken on myself, otherwise, all the other courses that I have completed were from the organizations I was working with.

So far my experience has been really good.  The course material is quite robust and is easy to understand.

Although there are things that require memorizing but by and large someone with sound logical reasoning and can easily follow the course and do well.

This course is definitely helpful for lawyers and law students.  Apart from that, people from other backgrounds also can utilize this course for continuous learning and developing their skills.  I believe that basic legal education is a must for everyone as one has to keep the law in mind while doing anything.
